Independent Midwifery Services
I offer three different packages of care – pregnancy only, postnatal only, and home birth. The costs are outlined in the Fees section of this website.
I also offer individual visits for those who only require one or two sessions as follows:
Single Antenatal Visit
- Help to process a previous birth experience
- Birth planning session
- Unbiased non-coercive chat about your options
- Non-judgemental support about ‘out-of-guidelines’ options including not wanting vaccinations or other interventions
- Antenatal examination. You might want this if you have a worry but don’t feel you’re being listened to. Or if you’ve been told something is wrong and want a second opinion. Or for any reason that you feel you’d like a woman- and family-centred midwife.
Single Postnatal Visit
- Feeding support from an experienced midwife. I can help you to express, latch baby and generally help with feeding issues.
- Postnatal care and thorough examinations of you and baby.
- As an experienced birth story listener, I can hold a space for you to share your story. You do not need to worry your story will be too much for me, even if it is highly emotional or traumatic. I won’t try to fix you, but listen and be fully present for you while you share your story. To be heard in this way can be a healing, healthy and hopeful experience.
- Help getting medical care and/or prescriptions if you need them and are having trouble or don’t know what you need.
These visits are between £150-£200 depending on whether follow-up is needed. Visits include a certain number of follow up contacts but no on-call service as this is part of my packages. Please see below.

Pregnancy Package
The pregnancy package is included in the birth package but can be booked separately. If you choose the pregnancy package, visits are carried out in your own home, without rush. We discuss anything you wish and I can draw on my years of experience as a midwife to help you make the right decisions for you. I can support you through the changes your body makes as you adapt to growing new life within your womb. I will share with you my knowledge of the physiology of childbirth and help you to create your birth plan. The pregnancy package can be accessed by anyone whether you are planning a home or hospital birth, and whether or not you plan to have a registered midwife at your birth.
Home Birth Package
This is the package to choose if you wish to have a home birth me as your independent midwife. If you choose this package, the pregnancy and postnatal packages are included (if wished). I will visit throughout your pregnancy for antenatal care on your terms – you have whatever checks and care you wish and absolutely everything is your choice. We can talk about your birth plans and get to know each other and develop a relationship of trust prior to birth. I will be on call for your home birth and not leave until you are tucked up in bed with tea and toast after the placenta is born. I will be on call for support as wished for feeding and anything else during the postnatal period for up to six weeks.
Postnatal Package
The postnatal package is included in the birth package but can be booked separately. Would you like visits to support you with feeding and caring for baby? To help you to integrate the huge experience of birth and optimise your health at this vulnerable, raw and beautiful time? With this package you can call me any time, day or night, for support with feeding or anything else.
